We’ve officially been homeowners for 9 weeks and I thought it was about time to post a house update! I have been putting off writing this post because I kept wanting to wait until the house was “finished”. However, I’m quickly learning that our house will forever be a work in progress, and I’m starting to embrace that instead of trying to make it perfect overnight!
So far, homeownership has been tough but so rewarding. Our weekends are spent doing yard work (something we didn’t fully think through when moving to almost an acre), nights are spent on home improvement projects, and I think Home Depot has become our second home. Despite the hard work, there is something so special about knowing that our home is truly ours.
I’m very excited to share some updated pictures now that we’ve moved in and are finally starting to feel settled! Enjoy!
With the pretty 70 degree weather we’ve been having, this sun porch is one of my new favorite spots in our house. Cannot wait to get some plants out here in the spring!
The kitchen is hands down my favorite room in the entire house! I love how bright and open it is and it really has become the gathering spot when we host friends and family. Patrick does all the cooking in our house, but this kitchen has inspired me to start trying to cook a little, too!
Our master bedroom is where my Joanna Gaines + farmhouse dreams really do come true. I still am swooning over the bathroom barn door and the beams in the vaulted ceilings!
We have been so lucky to have already hosted six out of town guests in our first six weeks of homeownership! Definitely putting this guest bedroom + bathroom to good use! We love when our friends and family come to town and showing them around Atlanta!
The spare bedroom is exactly what I mean when I say that we are definitely still a work in progress! For now, this room has been wonderful for all of our storage and miscellaneous items.
My favorite part of my home office is the big window that looks over our backyard. I love being able to see Tucker playing outside from my desk!
The living room is definitely the coziest room in our home. Almost every night since moving in we have had a fire burning in the fireplace and it’s possibly my favorite part of living here!
I hope you enjoyed the tour! I’ll be sure to post updates as we continue to get settled in!
